Parkside Group Home

Parkside Group Home is a six bedroom, 24 hour facility which provides support to youth between the ages of 12-17 years. Parkside uses harm reduction strategies and positive counselling and coping models to ensure the youth experience a safe and supportive environment. Transitional support is integral to Parkside's program; family involvement and reunification are a paramount aspect of this support. The program is strengths-based and trauma-informed, with a strong emphasis on building independent living skills, family and community connections, resiliency skills and self-management skills to assist our youth in succeeding in future placements. Cultural programming is also of paramount importance at Parkside; youth are provided with a variety of opportunities to practice and learn more about their culture through internal and external mentorship, activities and education. Parkside works closely with other agencies and the Government of Alberta to ensure that staff are culturally competent and that the youth are provided with the cultural opportunities they desire.
